Yesterday morning, as Jews around the world observed Shabbat Zachor, the “Shabbat of Remembrance,” when we fulfill the Torah's command to remember the cruelty of Amalek, the United States and Israel launched a joint military operation against Iran and killed Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic. Tomorrow night, we gather to read the Megillah, the story of a tyrant in Persia, the very land we now call Iran, who decreed the annihilation of the Jewish people. That story ended with his downfall and the deliverance of our ancestors. We are now living inside a Purim story of our own.

Resnick Family Campus Wins Architectural Award

Wilshire Boulevard Temple's Resnick Family Campus was chosen as a WINNER in the Los Angeles Business Council’s 55th Annual Los Angeles Architectural Awards for its renovation. Other structures throughout the city of Los Angeles this year honored at the event include the LA County Museum of Art David Geffen Galleries and the Intuit Dome.

Thank God They Are Home

Shortly after 8 AM this morning in Israel, the 20 remaining living hostages were released by Hamas and returned home. It was dawn on Simchat Torah two years ago that this nightmare began. Now, on the eve of Simchat Torah, we welcome them back, holding all hostages, those returned and those lost, in our hearts.
