From local landmarks to national parks to the streets of Jerusalem, students step out into the world with open minds and curious hearts ready to learn, connect, and grow.

 

Learning Beyond the Classroom Walls

Field trips aren’t just a break from routine. They’re powerful opportunities to deepen understanding, build empathy, and experience lessons in action. Whether students are exploring the halls of a museum, touring historic neighborhoods, or volunteering in the community, these experiences spark new ideas and lasting memories.

Grade-Level Adventures

Each grade level embarks on a series of trips tied to what they’re learning in the classroom.

They’re thoughtfully connected to curriculum themes, Jewish values, and the communities around us. Students come away with lasting memories, deeper understanding, and a stronger sense of connection to the world.

Nature & Environment

Visits to places like TreePeople, Amy’s Farm, and the Aquarium of the Pacific give students hands-on experiences with sustainability, ecology, and caring for the earth. They learn that Jewish values call us to protect and preserve the natural world.

History & Heritage

Trips to the Skirball Cultural Center, Leonis Adobe Mission, Chinese American Museum, Watts Towers, and San Fernando Mission bring history to life. Students see how different cultures and traditions have shaped Los Angeles, building respect for diverse perspectives.

Social Responsibility

Experiences with organizations like PATH (People Assisting the Homeless), Our Big Kitchen Los Angeles (OBKLA), Karsh Center, and Aidan’s Place cultivate empathy and civic responsibility. Students understand that they can make a difference in their community.

Arts & Culture

Visits to the Blue Ribbon Music Festival, LACMA, Morgan Wixson Theater, Discovery Cube, and the Grammy Museum inspire creativity and expose students to world-class art. They see how artistic expression connects to identity, culture, and community.

Jewish Values in Action

Journeys to the Museum of Tolerance and LAMOTH (Los Angeles Museum of the Holocaust) help students wrestle with history, morality, and resilience, deepening their sense of Jewish identity and responsibility to build a more just world.

Overnight and Travel Experiences

Beginning in Grade 4, students pack their bags and head out on overnight trips that build independence, connection, and confidence.

Each journey is tied to what they are learning in the classroom, bringing curriculum to life through hands-on experiences, cultural exploration, and Jewish values in action. Whether they’re navigating the state capitol or hiking through the Negev, students return with a broader sense of the world and their place in it.

Grade 4

Sacramento

Students bring California history to life as they explore gold mines, tour historic towns, and step into the stories that shaped our state—all while building independence on their first overnight trip.

Grade 5

Boston

From Plymouth Rock to the American Revolution, students walk through centuries of history, connecting past to present and deepening their understanding of democracy, resilience, and Jewish identity.

Grade 5 & 6

El Capitan

Camping under the stars, students hike, explore tide pools, and share campfire stories, an outdoor adventure that strengthens friendships, sparks curiosity, and nurtures growth.

Grade 6

Israel

Students immerse themselves in Jewish history, culture, and traditions through hands-on experiences in Israel and at home, forming a powerful connection to their heritage and to one another.

 

On-Campus Enrichment and Guest Speakers

Not every adventure requires a bus ride. Throughout the year, students engage with experts and programs that bring inspiration and real-world relevance right into the classroom. These experiences connect directly to what they’re learning, making curriculum come alive in new ways. Authors, artists, scientists, wellness professionals, and community leaders share their stories and skills—sparking curiosity, creativity, and meaningful connections to the world beyond school.
